A few cents for charity!
At Our Mom Eugenia, we’ve always believed that food is about more than what’s on the table. It’s about family, community, and taking care of one another. That’s why all three Our Mom Eugenia locations in Great Falls, Mosaic District and Shirlington, are coming together to support the St. Katherine’s Ladies Philoptochos Society through our newest fundraising campaign.  WHAT IS PHILOPTOCHOS? Philoptochos (Φιλόπτωχος) is a Greek word meaning “friend of the poor” — from philos (friend) and ftohos (poor or needy). The Ladies Philoptochos Society is the philanthropic organization of the Greek Orthodox Church, dedicated to helping people and families facing hunger, illness, financial hardship, disaster, and other difficult circumstances. The St. Katherine’s chapter, based in Falls Church, carries out this mission in our local community while also supporting charitable efforts nationally and internationally. |
HOW YOU CAN HELP Now through December 31, when you dine with us at Great Falls, Mosaic, or Shirlington, you’ll have the option at checkout to simply round up your bill and donate the difference. A few cents from one check may not seem like much, but when thousands of guests participate, those pennies, nickels, and dimes really add up. In fact, so far this year, Our Mom Eugenia guests have made over 3,000 round-up contributions. Together, our guests have already helped us support organizations including WETA Public Television, No Kid Hungry, and The Hellenic Initiative. For our newest campaign, we’re bringing all three restaurants together behind one cause: St. Katherine’s Ladies Philoptochos Society. WHERE DOES YOUR DONATION GO? Our Round Up program is administered through Toast, the point-of-sale system we use in our restaurants, in partnership with Benevity, a charitable giving and grant-management platform. When you choose to round up, Toast records and collects your charitable contribution as part of the transaction. Benevity manages the charitable funds and facilitates their distribution to the designated nonprofit organization. This means that the contributions are tracked and handled through established third-party systems designed to manage charitable donations and distribute the funds to the intended recipient. For this campaign, that recipient is the St. Katherine’s Ladies Philoptochos Society.Add your text here |
